The ART of Dressing came as an idea as I was watching all the makers engage with their customers and friends. And the feeling that visitors weren't getting ALL of it. I was left with the feeling that I had to show them - show them more. Show them a maker's life on a stage - one that animated how a maker lives. How the making and selling of our craft goes much deeper than just creating pieces for sale.
You see us at shows hawking our wares or posting our pieces for sale on social media, sometimes we get an article in the paper. What you don't see is that we make our lives too. The clothes we make, the food, the way we set up our homes, how we look at everything as inspiration and how we are so lucky that we have this energy. We create daily and we don't really think about it as special.
I wanted to share this with everyone. There is a special thing that has taken place over the last two years with The ART of Dressing Makers. What you see and buy are all made special for this show, special for you. We come up with ideas, make a story and work out our ideas in fabric, jewellery and props. We meet regularly which has become a real treat for all of us. We have so much genuine love to create for our audience.
The last meeting I had goosebumps the whole time. This is where the magic happens.
I hope you can make it out to our show.
